Engagement sitting

Let's talk a little bit about engagement sittings. All my packages include an engagement sitting. For me, this is a very important shoot. It's the first time the couple and I work together. We get to know each other. You can say it's a rehearsal. The couple can use their engagement photos for the engagement announcement, the wedding invitations or to create a wedding web page. It's also a great chance to get some nice pictures. This morning I met with John and Tara. Their wedding is going to be in October. We had so much fun during the engagement shoot, that I can't wait to work at their wedding.

Home sweet home

If someone ask me what I miss the most from Germany, my answer is always: The bread and the pastry. Since I met Janusz Zrodlowski (Janosh) I feel even more at home in Colorado. Janusz is an executive pastry chef and the owner of the Elegant Bakery. He won several awards for excellence at local, regional, and national pastry competitions. Every time I'm in his store I can taste why he won all the awards. Janusz's specialty is to match the bride's dress in color and pattern with the cake. Since quite some time I try to convince him to bake me some bread - of course German style. Today he surprised me, when he called me behind the counter. I couldn't believe it, when he showed me with a big smile on his face a bunch of bread loaves laying on the table in front of me. The taste test proved: Great Bread, Janusz! I took a couple of loaves home. Janusz also proudly showed me the cake he was just working on. Needless to say it looked gorgeous. I'm sure that the bride and groom will enjoy their cake tonight.

Senior photos for Jennifer

I like to shoot Senior pictures. Coming from Germany I had to learn what they are all about. The statistics show that people will view senior pictures more than even wedding photos. I think that is pretty amazing. Knowing about the importance of these photos, I take it very serious. Today I shot Jennifer's senior photos. She was a little late, but I made it happen. Her images arrived the school right in time. If you want to see all the images I took of Jennifer, just go to pixelartsphotography.com . Go to the clients section and use "burns" as the password.

Claire & Ryan

Weddings at the Brown Palace in Denver are always special to me. I don't know, may be it's the Brown Palace itself, or the couples. Yesterday I shot Claire and Ryan's wedding. 150 guests and two people who are truly in love. Like always I had a lot of fun and came home with a ton of good images. I love my job. I deal always with happy people. I can't wait to present all of the images to Claire and Ryan, when they are back from there honeymoon.
