YEAH!!! More Snow

It seems to become a pattern. When the week goes towards the weekend, the blizzard move in. I think the last time we have seen the ground was two weeks before Christmas. I like the snow. Coming from Germany and being used to the rain, snow is definitely the better choice. If there wasn't the snow blowing.

Beer from Germany

Sometimes you have to explore your neighborhood and you find out stuff you don't expect. Right now I have company. My friend Andreas, he is a managing photo editor at Getty Images in Germany, is visiting me. So we are out a lot for sight seeing. Today we paid the Coors Brewery in Golden a visit. What a surprise for me when I read at one of the displays that the founder of Coors, Adolph Coors, learned to make beer in Dortmund in Germany. Dortmund is only 15 miles away from my hometown. No wonder that it taste a little bit like home...

Getting ready for the season

The new wedding season is just around the corner and all the wedding vendors are preparing for it. As a member of the Association of Bridal Consultants (ABC) I join every month what we call the "fact caravan". Together with other wedding vendors we check out all the wonderful venues in Colorado. I want to make sure that I know all these venues and that I also know where to take the best pictures during your wedding day. In January we have been in downtown Denver. What a great place to get married. We started at the Four Points by Sheraton, where Liz Nelson introduced us to the services of the hotel. Next stop was The Curtis, which seems like a fun place. "We want to put a smile on our guests' faces", explained Rebecca Frye to us. A lot has already been written about the Denver Art Museum. Peter Thomas didn't have a hard time convincing us that a wedding at the museum is something special. Brad Kassenbrock promised the Fado Irish Pub to provide good food and another fun place to be. Amy Mason was our host at the The Westin Tabor Center. Great place and nice rooms. Our last stops were at the Grand Hyatt Denver and the Hyatt Regency Denver. Elaine Karras proudly told us the fact that you can drive an entire car into their elevators for loading and unloading.

National Jewish

What a weekend! Nothing on the schedule, except the fundraising Ball for the National Jewish Medical and Research Center at the Hyatt Regency in Denver: The Beaux Arts Ball. My wife Tammy was all excited about this Ball days before. Actually she was more excited to see me finally in a Tuxedo. What an event. A beautiful decorated ball room and 1000 guests had a lot of fun. I mean wearing this Tuxedo was actually fun for me as well. I had to get used to tied shirt. After an hour of wearing the shirt I was fine and I spend a great time with my wife and friends at the Hyatt.

New Year, new chance, new life...

I know the new year is already two weeks old, but anyway it's still young enough to celebrate it. I spend my days in the office with preparation of the new season. Not much celebration there. Everything has to be ready. Right in the middle of my paper work a phone call... a new baby. What a great start into the new year. Of course I want to shoot the first pictures of the new born life. It was great fun to work the young Sidney and her Mom Heather. I think Sidney has a great potential to become a famous photo model. Don't you agree?
